Salesforce’s requirement to Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
On February 1, 2022, Salesforce will begin requiring customers to enable MFA in order to access Salesforce products (at no extra cost). This Muti-factor Authentication is an important tool to prevent cyberattacks and unauthorized account access.
We would like to share with you more information about MFA and how it works.
“I have enjoyed increasing my potential customers, and I hope to reach more of them.”
What is it?
MFA is a secure login process that requires users to verify identity in two or more instances of authentication (or “factors”). One factor will still be their username and password and the other factor could be any verification method that the user has in their possession, such as the Salesforce Authenticator app in their phones or a security key.
What does it mean?
All internal users who log in to Salesforce products through the user interface must use MFA.
What do we recommend?
A free tool for MFA is Salesforce’s Authenticator app, which takes less than 5 minutes to set up and it's really easy to use.
We suggest first watching this video, which explains what it is and how to use it for logging in.
Use this tutorial to connect your account to the Salesforce Authenticator, and then follow the steps on the screen.
In the future, if there is any kind of cyber-attack or if someone else is trying to log in to your account, you will receive a notification and be able to deny that access to your Salesforce instance.
