PeerNova Inc.

Explore how PeerNova teamed up with Modelit to launch Cuneiform for Salesforce.

Who they are:

PeerNova is a decision-science company with deep roots in FinTech solutions whose mission is to enable organizations to make confident and timely decisions.

When PeerNova decided to bring its platform to the Salesforce ecosystem, it hired Salesforce veterans Mehmet Orun and Abraham Lloyd. Together, they well understood the Salesforce ecosystem and the CRM data challenges that often hinder business value realization.

With that in mind, they set out to develop CuneiformⓇ for Salesforce, a revolutionary data profiling solution that gives customers an unprecedented view of their data quality and reveals the direct impact data quality has on business outcomes. Today, PeerNova has two products in this ecosystem: Cuneiform for CRM and Cuneiform for Data Cloud.

The Challenge:

As a new Salesforce ISV Partner, PeerNova wanted to quickly develop and deliver an industry-leading data profiling application. To achieve this, they needed a development team with proven expertise in the capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce platform.

PeerNova chose staff augmentation with Modelit to avoid the usual time delays associated with building an in-house team. They prioritized creating a team with deep Salesforce development expertise and a culture centered on quality, trust, accountability, and attentiveness to results. This approach minimized early business investment risks while prioritizing delivery tempo and interactive learning through a sustainable development, testing, and release process.

Starting a new product line requires a different mindset and operating model compared to traditional Salesforce projects. What consistently stands out about ModelIt is the synergy we share in our values, which amplifies our impact in the Salesforce ecosystem. In just one year, we’ve introduced three innovative, 100% native Salesforce AppExchange products. Our mission is to help Salesforce customers maximize the value of their data by measuring, monitoring, and improving data quality for the objects that drive their business. Every day Modelit helps us achieve this mission through their Salesforce expertise and our shared values of trust, quality, innovation, and results-focused attention. This allows us to focus on growth, customer success, and changing the world one Salesforce customer at a time...

Abraham Lloyd- Head of Product Innovation and Adoption @ PeerNova Inc.

The Solution:

PeerNova’s data profiling application needed to be designed with a deep understanding of data management fundamentals and practical experience harnessing the capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce platform. In order to successfully build the application, it was crucial to have a strong understanding of both data and Salesforce.

Cuneiform for Salesforce applications run solely within the Salesforce platform, with strict adherence to security best practices. This is why we implemented the product following best practices in design, architecture, and development, which allowed us to deliver a high-quality solution and swiftly pass the AppExchange Security Review process.

As an AppExchange solution, Cuneiform for CRM needed to be easy to use and extensible. The Modelit team completed several design iterations and POCs to ensure key insights could be captured and presented effectively with a minimal org footprint. This allowed the product to evolve rapidly with user feedback.

Last but not least, we had to deliver an adaptable and performant architecture. The architecture framework enabled PeerNova to expedite the development of their next app, Cuneiform for Data Cloud – the first data management app built on and for Salesforce Data Cloud – which we released only six months after their first product.

How We Helped:

A significant goal for PeerNova was to build an application that offered Salesforce customers a better view into the shape, usage, and quality of their data more efficiently than existing solutions in the market. Together, we created a solution that delivers:

  • Speed and Efficiency: The application can profile 20 million records in about 20 minutes, which is approximately 60 times faster than alternatives.
  • Simplification: The application transforms a complex process into one that is both more predictable and more reliable.
  • A New Standard of Security: Cuneiform for Salesforce products are 100% native to the Salesforce platform and there is no need to export data or leverage external tools to perform its data analysis and usage calculations. All processing is performed within the Salesforce trust layer, respecting the Salesforce platform’s high levels of security.

The launch of the Cuneiform for Salesforce products has positioned PeerNova as an up-and-coming force in the Salesforce ecosystem, solving data quality and reliability challenges. The portfolio’s competitive edge exemplifies its contribution to addressing broader data quality challenges for Salesforce customers.

Custom Solutions for Energy Efficiency.

In 2012, Modelit took on Build It Green as its first client. This nonprofit, which offers energy efficiency services throughout California, has since been acquired by Franklin Energy. With that acquisition in 2019, Franklin Energy was able to expand its reach to the west coast -- continuing with its mission of providing energy efficiency solutions to the entire United States. The ultimate goal is to encourage communities to make smart choices when it comes to energy efficiency, and to help reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2025. When we began working with Build It Green, they’d been using two separate legacy systems to run the Energy Upgrade California™ Home Upgrade - a program that is administered by the organization for Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). Not only was this approach a slow and expensive one, but trouble with data integration between the two systems was also costing the company in customer satisfaction.
